I melt butter in a skillet, add apples and stir fry until consistency that you desire. I sprinkle with a little cinnamon and serve over ice cream.

Skillet Apples
1/3 cup butter or marj.
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons corn starch
1 ½ cups water
¼-½ tsp cinnamon
4 medium apples cored, unpeeled and cut in ½ inch slices.
In 10 inch skillet melt butter at medium heat 3 to 4 minutes.stir in sugar and cornstarch, mix well. Add rest of ingredients cover and cook over medium heat spooning sauce over apples occasionally, until apples are fork tender and sauce is thickened. About 15 minutes

Slice them horizontally and remove the core, peel if you wish. Shallow or deep fry for a few minutes.

I'm sure a professional apple fryer would know how, but they would have to kill you after showing how it's done.
