We have a campsite booked for the weekend, but i was wondering, how strict are they on the 6 person per site rule?

Very, even in the wilderness area's. I had a site all to my self up in high country last year and late at night in hiked a larger party camped within spittin distance of me. good thing Jr ranger happened along in the am and checked their permit and mine and told them to move on. same thing happened in the valley, I had a good walk in site set up my gear an went to the showers came back and THREE tents were set in my site. Called the ranger and he removed their tents after we waited 3 hours for them to return. All their stuff was in the rangers truck when they returned from the showers and they were escorted from the park.

So you see Yosemite is crowded enough as it is don't spoil it for others

The sites are not that large, six people is kind of pushing it. So long as your excess people clear out before the AM you should be a-ok. Try not to exceed two tents in the area, sleep in the car if needed.

My friends and I are probably the people that were kicked out by the other guy. We try to dodge or befriend the rangers, one or the other always works.
