So, would most guys choose a slim girl with an ugly face over a slightly overweight girl with a pretty face?
It just seems to me, from what I'm hearing from lots of different sources, that the body type of a woman is the single most important determinate of whether or not she is considered attractive by most men. I mean, if you look at it, someone could be thin and have ugly facial features. Is that person "pretty" just because they are thin? By the same token, a slightly plump person could have beautiful hair, skin, and eyes, but would be considered uglier than the thin one automatically by lots of people. I just don't get that at all. No offense to anyone, I can understand why obesity would not be considered the ideal of external beauty (although many are beautiful b/c they are beautiful on the inside) but why is "plump" or slightly overweight considered bad-looking in today's world. After all, wasn't there an era where plumper was considered attractive in women.

Men are visual creatures. They want the body they see in the magazines. If the girl isn't the prettiest she can wear makeup. If her hair is ratty she can get extensions. And, because his guy friends would give him a hard time, even if a boy liked a plump girl he would only be her friend (if anything at all). I find that the older a guy gets the less the ultra thin frame matters. When he reaches the point where he wants a woman and not a girl a few extra pounds doesn't matter.

I don't think a thin body would overcome an ugly face. An average face maybe, but not an ugly one.
Ideal body types for a society are often based on resources. When plump women were considered attractive that was because only wealthy women could afford to eat that much and not work it off. In today's society, only the wealthy or disciplined have the time to keep in good shape.

ya see, i am a slightly plump girl w/ a pretty face (although i am losing weight, but still) and the guys at my school usually go for the skinny girls with big boobs and butts. soooo for the moment i am not considered pretty. but w/e.
and ya, women used to be more plump. look at the ancient statues of Aphrodite/Venus. she has a small belly going on too. AND SHE WAS THE FREAKING GODDESS OF BEAUTY. jeez.

well i do know being plumper was a beauty standard earlier on because it ,eant they had money (thus ate more)
i think that they would go with the slightly, since you said slightly overweight girl (but not really overweight, honestly i dont think they like that) with the nicer face
they always tell you guys like curves and some guys might not like really skinny girls

No it depends on the guys;Some Guys like girl to have a good facial attraction and are least bothered about there plumpiness,while there are some guys who like thin girls even if they are not nice.

Whenever a girl describes themselves as slightly chubby it really means that she is obese.
Having said that, if the girl was slightly overweight and had a nice face, skin, hair etc why doesnt she lose a bit of weight and she would become stunning.

ha..love your question. only dumb ***** guys only like size 0 girls. if your a real man you'll like a pretty girl with nice hair and good personality instead of just a chick with nothin goin on except her double 0 pants. most of my guy friends like nice bodys..but wouldn't just date a girl because of it..they like pretty faces too. so, if a girl is chunky..has nice hair ..a cute face..and it fun, they would like her. only shallow dumb dudes only like the tiny chicks.
