Bad grades....Im really scared :(?
I dont have the best grades....i get maybe one F each report card...lately ive been thinking about my life and im just scared outta my mind. Yes i have bad grades but im 16 and i built my own computer, i wrote my own website, and im a good problem solver when it comes to computers...basically im just kickass with them. My computer repair teacher said i have a bright future ahead of me, my programming teacher wants me to be his aid and they both think im friggin amazing with a computer. Im just curious...if im really good with something...and i have bad grades and dont graduate high school will i get a good job? My friends said i dont even really need a job hehe just write a firewall and sell it...which isnt a bad idea but if i ever wanted to work somewhere...would they automatically turn me down without seeing what i can do or would they give me a chance?

College would make your future a lot easier. Because not only will you're employers know you're kickass at programming and computer but they'll also know that you did well in these fields in college.
I suggest talking to a counselor at your school and start deciding which colleges you would like to go to. I suggest a college specialized in IT and programming for you.
Honestly, without graduating from college, you don't have much of a chance to get a job.

Unless you make a name for yourself a.k.a. the world knows you are the best for a fact OR you build your credentials. If you work for the goverment, security system - these jobs will raise your credentials a lot.
HOWEVER, not graduating from highschool or college and aiming for a professional careeer will pull you down immensely. Most jobs offered at least require its applicant to be a highschool grad, and for programmers, an IT, CS, COE college grad or certified by a school.
And even if you make a firewall, a program that you think might make you rich might be your own fall. Even if your really good... you are still quite a novice compared to the senior programmers outthere and they will outsell you with anything.
And yes, they would turn you down without looking at your portfolio. Your not the only person applying in that company that can contribute much... there's a lot of people out there that might be better than you. Your not the only person that is that good... modesty aside, I might be better than you with computers.
I built a pseudo AI program at the age 14... its currently serving me as as an effective security system. Plus, I can talk to it (thnx Vista) and it answers back.
The point of me bragging is that Out there, competition is tougher.

School is important! Graduating High School is too! A few years out of High School no one but colleges care what your grades were. There is so much more to life than that. Its not impossible to do what you want to do without a diploma, but I can imagine that the roadblock are great!
Experience can trump education. I am in a job where applications ask for a certificate, but what is a certificate worth when I have 4 years of experience vs their none. If worse comes to worse research getting your GED and hang in there.

1. Your sister's behavior towards the dogs is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. Not all dogs are tolerant of children, and your mother should not allow her to interact with dogs if she cannot treat them gently. One day she'll squeeze a large dog too hard and end up dead as a result. While toddlers are not capable of regulating the strength with which they pet or squeeze with accuracy, a 5 year old is more than capable of doing so. So yes, your sister is in large part responsible for this, and it would NOT be expected that a normal 5 year old would be too rough with a dog during a supervised interactions. 2. Your mother's behavior is unacceptable and irresponsible. At 5, your younger sister should be MORE than capable of treating a dog gently and your mother should be responsible enough as a parent to stop her from picking up or squeezing the dogs. It is not that hard- if she cannot pet them gently, she shouldn't be allowed by your mother to even lay a single FINGER on the dogs. Your mother has a duty not only to protect your sister from the dogs, but also to protect the dogs from your sister's mean behavior. 3. The dog's behavior towards each other is unacceptable, not normal, and should have been addressed when they were first brought home. When blood is drawn, that's serious fighting with intent to hurt- and eventually one will be seriously hurt. A behaviorist should be consulted to develop a training plan, or the dogs placed into separate homes. 4. The dog's behavior towards your sister is inappropriate and unacceptable, but I would not call it necessarily all that abnormal. Many dogs are poorly socialized with children and have a low tolerance for children. Children are loud, they move quickly, they handle clumsily, and they can be deliberately mean to animals for no particular reason. Small breeds are easily injured and easily intimidated, and are NOT usually good choices in a home with younger children. These dogs should not be in a home with children, period. Whether they should be in ANY home would depend on whether any of the bites were without provocation. Have they ever bitten anyone else with no apparent provocation? If not, that would imply that the sole reason for the bites is your sister's inappropriate handling, and I would have them evaluated for aggression by a behaviorist, and placed in (separate) new homes with NO children if they pass the evaluation. If they have bitten others unprovoked or fail a behavioral test, the solution = euthanasia, as they could not be safely placed into another home. I am extremely surprised that the dogs were not seized and euthanized after your sister was admitted to the ER with serious dog bites. If it were to happen again, I have no doubt that in most places, your mother would be charged with child endangerment for continuing to allow her around a dog that has already inflicted serious injury. Add: If the dogs are surrendered to any shelter, they will be put down immediately, as they have bitten a human seriously. The liability for the shelter to place them in a home is too high. "No-kill" is a misleading term. All it means is that a shelter does not euthanize for space reasons. Any dog deemed "unadoptable" for behavioral or medical reasons is euthanized. And a dog that has inflicted serious injuries requiring medical attention will most certainly be deemed unadoptable. Add2: In that case, your best shot is Child Protective Services, to report that the dogs have seriously injured your sister once already, and that your mother continues to allow your sister to handle the dogs roughly despite the previous injury and she has been bitten repeatedly since. If Animal Control did not get involved when the ER visit was made, it's unlikely they would do anything until another bite incident occurs, since they are concerned with the dog's level of danger posed, and not much else. Be aware that reporting this may result in charges against your mother. Do you have an adult family member that can intervene that your mother respects, before you go that route?

if u don't graduate high school the only people that will hire u are the places that u don't want to work at...like MCDonald's, Target, and Walmart. u know menial labor...the high school diploma means everything with finding a job now a days...they don't like to see what u can do, they like to see the schooling and ur credentials first in a resume before ever meeting u...they base ur chances off of the paper u send to them and ur application form, then they meet with u possibly if they like what they see. improve ur grades or get ur GED soon. they want at least a high school diploma and training for certifications before ever hiring for computer type jobs...see ur friends also falls short in the firewall sell, when u sell something of that nature, to be able to trust the product, they like to see ur educated as well...the person's background is a major component on buying a product...would u buy something expensive if u knew the person didn't even get training and certifications and might just be a toss up?...like an expensive hair cut, or possibly stocks in a new company? no good business man buys a product off someone who is just a 50 50 chance on it being great and a worthy investment...most good business men research the product and the maker to a T so that they are confident enough that it will be worth while.
so get better grades, get moticated and a tutor...stop building computers and websites for now and focusing on that for a bit, and start building a goal at graduating and getting certificats saying "hey, i got this paper saying i know what im doing"...if ur motivated enough, go to college as well...jsut take it a step at a time, it soulds overwhelming, but if u plan stuff out one at a time, it wont be as hard as it sounds...start studying for the classes ur failing and doing the homework (homework is often a huge part of the grade and the easiest to do since u can look answers up) and keeping up in the grades ur not struggling with...just find out what type of learner u are, if its audio/listening, go get a recorder and record ur class sessions and listen to them on ur way home or before bed again...that is what i do, im an audio and kinesthetic (hands on) mix...it sounds like ur a kinesthetic learner too since ur good at building a computer...int hat case. doodle and scribble as u listen to ur teachers, ul find u can process better possibly.

Not only do you need to graduate from high school, you need to also either graduate from college, or get a large number of prestigious certifications. No technology employer will look at you if you don't have a high school degree (they will just throw your resume away), and it's highly unlikey they'll look at you without additonal qualifications. Keep in mind, the job market is really tough right now, and there are people with Master's degrees and years of experience that are finding it hard to get jobs.

Cody,
A friend of mine also asked for help not long ago because she also is getting low grades, i'm not sure your reason for getting low grades in the first place (was it for behaviour, not trying?) hers was because she never worked in class. but shes one of the brightest in the class, because its so easy for her she doesn't even try therefore when the time comes to do an assignment for example she doesn't get it done.
My advice i gave her was to take one step at a time, do a bit a night and start early so the work doesn't catch up to you.
Then when you wake up in the morning you'll feel satisfied instead of stressed.
I hope that helped

No they will not necessarily turn you down if you tell them right away what you can do and show them. However getting a high school and college diplloma would really help your chances. Do not freak out..that only makes things worse.
