Is Netanyahu on a collision course with Obama?
Yesterday he side-stepped any commitment on a two-state solution, only two days after Pres. Obama reiterated U.S. support. He had a poor relationship with Clinton and his views on extremely limited sovereignty for small pockets of the WB - reservations, really - are well known. Will U.S.-Israeli relations deteriorate during this administration?

Netanyahu is trying to put a bit of a gloss on the situation but it doesn't look good. I would say yes. Obama's trial balloon last December - suggesting that NATO troops replace the IDF in the Occupied Territories - is an indicator that he takes very seriously our commitment to a Palestinian State. Much more so than Clinton. Plus he's an innovator. Bibi is very business-as-usual. He wants to preserve the status quo. Obama doesn't like agendas that have failed in the past. He likes change, new approaches. It looks like a rocky road ahead for the Israelis.

Giggles the clown (Mr. Obama) has demonstrated early in his administration his intention to appease the Muslim world and submit to their demands. U.S.-Israeli relations will not only deteriorate under Giggles administration they will become down right hostile as Mr. Obama will have a tendency to blame Israel and the Bush Administration as the source of the turmoil in the Middle East.

Don't you remember Netanyahu's previous strategies? He's been in office before.
Peace and reasonability was thrown out the window when this man was elected. Israelis are tense, and they probably have good reason to be with everything that is brewing in their neighbors' countries and in the rest of the world.
I don't think U.S.-Israeli relations will publicly deteriorate. That is a front that will continue because Israel wants its neighbors to think the USA is on their side. USA is not really on their side anymore -- but if the USA doesn't put up that front, then Israel will be attacked from all sides and there starts WWIII.
All the world's a stage.

Hi. No they won't, not in the slightest, America isn't stupid and Netanyahu is as wise as they come.
I can see there are a few wishful thinkers around who hate both America and Israel and would love to see the demise of both countries, not that it would occur if these two split up. America would be screwed but Israel wouldn't!!! People aren't understanding American politics or the religious perspective.
One needs to keep in mind that Obama is an elected official and he is just a man. He cannot change the mindset of millions of Americans who have elected our Congressmen and Senators to represent us, and that Americans support Israel from one Presidency to the next, for decades. Obama cannot change what is already in motion. All he has the capacity to do is to be "diplomatic" and attempt for people resolve issues and that is all American Presidents have done before Obama.
Many of us already have witnessed two men shaking hands while a third proudly looks on, the signing of papers and the "photo ops." Those are not what change things in the course of history. Those are public displays of failed attempts.
This is what changes things: "Peace does not lie in charters and covenants alone. It lies in the hearts and minds of the people." John F. Kennedy
Furthermore, America is a true "Western" country. We are as far West as they come. We have not been influenced by all that cockamamie radical Muslim BS that has been hitting the airwaves, our country was attacked on 9/11 by the same type of people that Israel is defending against, we have a strong Judeo-Christian resolve and that bond cannot be broken. We are actually much more conservative and in tune with Israeli policy than our allies who aren't so far West.
It is no secret that the "furthermost" Western countries more strongly support Israel than the more liberal European counterparts. The two Americas: Canada, America, and Latin/South American countries have a much stronger support of Israel.
Obama and Netanyahu are NOT on a collision course and I view Obama as weak compared to Netanyahu. You know who is on collision course? America and some of our liberal European allies. Some have succumbed to the anti-Israel and anti-American propaganda, have more of an atheist populace and larger liberal and Muslim populace. America is on a collision with them. I can tell you flat out, I'm ticked.
They're going to have to choose to be a true Western nation and stop fighting amongst each other, come fully onboard over what happened on 9/11 and the Afghan war, which is the same type radical enemy that Israel is fighting, and start fighting their hostile radical Muslim populace from within or else they will no longer be a "Western" country. We are a Western world at war with Islamofascism and not with each other.
Some of them already coming back up from the "over-correction" that they did from Bush era. That's where the true conflict is, it is not between Israel and America. It's actually their best interest to "come aboard" because America was late to respond in WW2 but we're actually leading the pack now and not just Israel but all our Western butts are on the line.
US Presidents on Israel, nothing has changed all this time, we'll always be supportive:

I hope so. Anything that will facilitate a deterioration in U.S. relations with this sick little beast of a government is good for the human race.

We have an old Lebanese saying "Obama has one in mouth and one in heart." he will not pressure Israel into anything.
JERUSALEM, March 26 (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday he did not expect to come under pressure from the United States over the Middle East peace strategy of his right-leaning government.
"I think you are talking about something that I doubt existed for any length of time in the past and which I am convinced does not exist today," the hawkish Netanyahu told reporters in reply to a question about possible U.S. pressure.
Netanyahu, who clashed with the Clinton administration while prime minister from 1996 to 1999, has shied away from endorsing the U.S.-backed goal of creating a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, alongside Israel.
U.S. President Barack Obama reaffirmed at a news conference on Tuesday Washington's commitment to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In his latest remarks, Netanyahu played down any notion of friction with Obama, saying the United States and Israel shared mutual interests and values, and ties between the two allies were especially strong.
Netanyahu, leader of the right-wing Likud party, said he was confident he could present a new government next week, but did not mention a specific day.

Netanyahu is trying to deceive anyone with a different view. His FA minister was a drunk ex-bodyguard. The other minister is a war criminal who used his hands in direct killings in the past. They already signed their agreements for the future crimes and they will do as usual, the same plan of settlements and much killings as possible.

In fundamentals the relationship will not change, but the situation with regard to our willingness to tolerate a continuing occupation in the WB will not continue. Bibi will have to concede much of the territory within four years - but not all. The really large settlements will remain.
