Not much you can do then but pay the late fee. It is always a risk when you wait until the last day so it will eventually bite you.

The period of the five day grace period is over for good. Financial institutions are out of blood and are looking for any and every way to squeeze their customers with creative fees like late fees. Most credit card companies will charge you a $40 late fee and raise your interest rate to 32% for being just one day late.

Call their customer service...they "might" be able to help...I doubt it though.

Many financial firms have figured out numerous tricks to get late fees from customers....included in these tricks are that their websites "mysteriously" don't work or go down on the dates that payments are due.

  • When you call the number it will ask you to put in your account number or whatever...Deliberately screw it up, you should get transferred to a "human" operator at which time you should be able to make a payment over the phone but first explain your situation and they will waive the nominal over the phone charge.

usually you will have a grace period. i would also make a screen shot of the site not being up just as a back up in case they give you a hard time. at least you will have that proof. more than likely you are not alone and they will be getting a lot of calls tomorrow from other people with the same problem.

Call them tomorrow. Most car payments have a 5 day grace period, so don't panic.

Next time, schedule it in advance.
