Need to find street by street data for demographic research?

I have to do age group demographic research in a certain neighborhood, but all online sources that I know (American FactFinder, American Community Survey) use town as a smallest data subset. The town that I am doing research in happens to be quite large (over 30000 residents), and I need data within a certain district of that town. Does anyone know places where i can possibly find that information?

Check with Acxiom (their InfoBase X product http://www.acxiom.com/data-products ) or Amacai http://www.amacai.com/ -- but be prepared to shell out money for the data.

Otherwise, call the Bureau of Census. I was able to get some more granular data from them before, but it takes a couple of weeks to prepare the dataset

You won't find any individual block by block data but you can find what's called Census Tract data. These are the smallest units of geographic area that are measured by the government. The Census Tracts we have here are under 1/4 square mile so it really pinpoint certain neighborhood characteristics.

This is a very technical website but it has all the info you're looking for in Census Tracts. "Census Blocks" on this webpage are not the blocks you are thinking of but rather blocks of Tracts.

Don't be fooled by the Missouri at the top - it's nationwide data.
