What perennial flowers have done well for you in Denver-zone 5?

Looking for a perennial flower that will make an imapct in garden full of low ground covers and bushes. Something up to 2.5' tall that is dense and produces a lot of flowers in our short growing season. My soil used ot be heavy in clay but after adding compost, I think anything should be able to tolerate it

The Columbine, the state flower of Colorado for one. Then Shasta daises, coreopsis, lily bulbs, and liatris. Just to mention a few. Start checking your local nurseries when they start to get plants and you will find many more. Below is a site that may help you.
