Drinking is very bad for bipolars. It is also a coping mechanism for those that are either undiagnosed and just want to take the edge off the anxiety and mania or those that don't want to take their meds. Drinking makes many people depressed and in itself is probably not a symptom of being bipolar. If you are worried, go see a psychiatrist. It is really the only way to know for sure.

OMG are we twins? Yes, you really are bipolar. I have all the same symptoms and have been telling my family I feel this way for years but they all would rather ignore it than face the facts! They also don't want me to be medicated so most of the time I am on crazy diets and foods that help with moods, read up on it. Most of the time I try to stay as stress free as possible. I am also 30 and have been married twice just to realize I really need to be alone and get better. I take it a day at a time and I find it really helps. Best of luck to you.

YESSS!!!! alcohol alters mood and brain chemicals, if you have bipolar, your brain chemistry is altered-alcohol interferes with that and causes depression. Avoid alcohol. And get yourself checked out by a doctor if this 'depression' persists.
