Pixies vs. Sonic Youth? (suck it, yahoo)?

MQ: Favorite song and/or album by each?

Update:

Yes, they have way better songs than Where Is My Mind.

And Juno can suck it right along with Yahoo.

Update 2:

Yeah, I know. Where Is My Mind is a good song...but they do have better.

I was just agreeing with Katy. :)

Pixies of course; they come after 6 spots after the Velvet Underground (in the top spot) and are just before The Clash.

    MQ: "Doolittle" and "Dirty"

"I Bleed" is very good. "Sugar Kane" or "Total Trash"...

...and the superb "The Diamond Sea"

Mythical hipness, stuck in an incest-ridden yell. Place it upon the dead table of pastels. Electrolicy is just arrogant and too simple, but when tried it seems forced. A wave to him and her. In the middle of the night he came to me: not a dream. or a haze. no fog; he was just there. I am there, lying awake to the sounds, myths. fuzz. So, i say to you: drive to Reno. Drive to Boston! drive to portland. drive anywhere! drive past the corporate ridden book hawkers, lying in their filthy pools of blood and spit, only to be noticed (and recognized) by those they do not wish to remember. Drive past the carnival and see inside: a plethora of muscle bound trapeze walkers covered in yellow and trash. The caged leader is showing his will and tenacity to all those who surrender the price of admission. it is not free or cheap. Drive further and you will reach a house; it is not the house that Kafka built. it was not built by Frost. It was not built by Salinger, Vonnegut, Locke, Lennon or Lenin. It was not built by the American dream, hoisted upon the shoulders of Americana or lore; it is just an old, broken up, filled down house. Drive on, past the burned out schools, the ruins of the youth and so on; you will come upon spontaneity, covered in arrogance and pretension. You will be treble minded, with nothing more than a stick to find your way, stumbling in the dark around the beggars and the fascists: faces that shave themselves on the rocks and dirt in which they sleep.

Sorry for the pretentiousness that is there. I am ashamed, or am I?

They're about equal in my favourite bands list. Maybe the Pixies, just cause I've known them longer.

MA: Doolittle and Surfer Rosa are pretty much equal, so are Daydream Nation and Sister. I think 'Hey' might be my favourite Pixies song.

I can't listen to Pixies at night.

    Or alone.

    I get the heebie jeebies.

However, they're very good, and there are better songs than Where Is My Mind if you ask me.

    Like I Bleed and Dead.

And Sonic Youth is now overrated. Thanks, Juno.

Never was a huge fan anyway.

If I had to choose (and I'm not happy about it), I'd choose Sonic Youth.

    MA:

    Sonic Youth - "Daydream Nation"

    Pixies - "Surfer Rosa"
