Do you think it's OK for a 16 year old to go the beach by herself?
If she checks in every two hours with her parents.
I am responsible and my parents know that.
My friend canceled on me and I want to go for some "me time."
I live about 20 minutes from the beach.

If you think she's mature, and it's a safe beach, I don't see why not. I would call her every once in a while though, just to make sure she's OK. I would also recommend telling her to call you if she feels threatened. If you aren't comfortable with letting her go on her own, compromise. Tell her she can go with friends, or stay down the beach where you can still see her, but you're not invading her space. She should have a cell phone with her at all times as well, for safety reasons.

I think that is fine as long as she doesn't talk to strangers, unless they are her age and she wants to make friends.
Her parents should drive her there and pick her up, 20 minutes is a bit long for a walk by herself.
Or since she is 16 she could drive.
16 is a reasonable age to go to the beach alone. Heck, my little 9 year old sister goes to the beach with her 12 year old friend. When I was 10 I went to the beach alone with my friends.
I don't see any problem there.
Hope you can! :)

I think it would depend where you live. Do you live really close to the beach? or hours away from the beach? I think if you live right by the beach it would be okay as long as you check in but still it would be better to bring friends. If it was hours away and you were going by yourself I would say no. You just never know what crazies are out there.

I don't think it would be the best idea for her to go ALONE..but if she had a friend or two with her I think that would be fine. The checking in is a good idea but I don't trust people these days...especially with young girls. If she has friends though with her then yeah for sure but alone that ain't the best idea and not really that fun either? Hope I helped...take care.

That really depends... I live directly on the beach. The beach IS my backyard. LOL. So, my parents allow me (15) to go alone. Heck, they let my 7 year old sister go as long as they are aware. :]

its not the smartest idea because beaches are pretty popular and you never know who is around but if she is responsible and does check in i dont think i would have a problem with it. my parents used to let me go to the beach by myself without a problem so i dont see why not.

Yes I am 13 and when it's warm out me and my friend walk to the beach. It's a good mile long walk too.

I think her parents should go with her, but stay at a different part of the beach

Depends if I trusted you. Plus, going by yourself could be dangerous. I would feel better if you went with someone. I'd probably say no honestly.

i think that's ok, as long as she is diligent and checks in. but also make sure she is going with responsible friends not abunch of wild ones.
