Selective silence: Do you know anyone that talks almost incessantly unless it's important for them to talk?
For me, it's my daughter. I've been asking her to chill with the talking for the sake of talking since she woke up. She was trying to tell me something, smacked my shoulder, and when I said "What?!" in an annoyed manner, she didn't want to talk.(Mind you, I keep telling her that if she wants my attention, she knows that HITTING me is not the way to go about it.)

Yes, and he'll talk to himself if nobody else is around. We work together as janitors, and I swear that he'll actually raise his voice when running a vacuum cleaner or some other noisy machine so that he can hear himself talking to himself over the noise.

My 8 year old daughter talks non-stop, she even talks in her sleep. Every note I get from the school tells me she is a good student but talks too much. However, when she has done something wrong, she is totally silent and that is when I ask "What did you do Calee?" she just shrugs her shoulders and looks up at the ceiling. I have to threaten to ground her before she gives in and that doesn't always work. The one thing I can say for her, she will never tell on her older brother and sister, she will take the punishment first.

Yes, and it drives me up the wall and around the bend. There is a constant drone of inane chatter wherever she happens to be.

Sometimes I tend to do that. Its just cuz I'm bored, and my brain is thinking to fast. I cant stand it, but I can't shut up. I only do it to my husband, so its not that bad. lol he does it to me too, I just realized that.
