Why is NASA wasting are money?
NASA is a big waste of money. I bet that whole moon thing was a big joke and they took fake pictures. Every year the government waste billions of dollars just too send a rocket to mars and take pictures. Why do we care what's out there. That money should be used to help feed the hungry and find cures for diseases. NASA hasn't done anything that has ever helped anyone EVER. All they do is bring back rocks and scientists gobble over it and then they send another toy into space. Think of all the people hear on Earth who need help what is the benefit of spending tons of money to fly into space and not get anything out of it. NASA is a waste of money and our lives would be better if it never existed.

It seems like very few people are taking you seriously and that, too was my first impulse since this coincides with the other trolls. You wouldn't be typing this question if NASA has not been put up because the PC is one invention they have improved over the years. Cellphones and many other things you used came from them. NASA's budget takes up very low in the national budget. Still most of the money is invested in saving the country. Of course there should be room for us to educate ourselves of everything around us just as we spend money on the many stadiums we build for sports, right? A strong body with a tiny brain should be a shame. NASA is also an agency who widen our options for a livable planet and help us detect globally hazardous impacts with asteroids and comets. You should be thankful for them acting as a national guard coz just a big one of thse things dropping in any part of earth would eradicate all life we know.

NASA is not a waste of money. It is because of NASA that we have the knowledge and safety products that some of us take for granted every day. NASA brought us the ability to use computers. Also a helpful hint is if you would learn how to spell right then people might take your questions a little more seriously. I agree that we do not need to send as much money to other countries like Haiti. We should instead use that money to help our fellow citizens of the USA.

You won't be complaining when they save us from a giant asteroid ;). But in all seriousness, NASA is too a specific target to blame for this very general topic. One might argue why are schools wasting our money for sport gear, and foot ball fields, and tennis courts when they are not needed for education... OK maybe school spending is not on the same level as NASA spending, but it's the same concept. If you got the money then why not spend it would be a brief way to answer this i suppose. And yes, NASA is being limited by the economy.

Like most people I suspect you over estimate the amount of money spent by NASA and underestimate the amount of money spent on other things.
You may also not be aware that the first A in NASA stand for Aeronautics. NASA has done a lot of work to improve airline safety and efficiency.
NASA does what it does order of Congress because, like me, most people who vote for them think developing space technology is an important and worthwhile thing to do.

you are kidding, right?
is that you, Brant?
come on! No one is that silly.
If by some strange genetic mix-up you are NOT kidding, well... NASA is responsible for many of the advances you now take as commonplace, such as PCs and cell phones.
plus really neat pictures of Jupiter, up close.
Finally, if NASA didn't get the money, the military would. Yeah, they feed a lot of the hungry.

You're ignorant. Proof of this can be seen in you saying NASA is wasting ARE money instead of OUR.
- Mike1942fLv 71 decade ago
Obviously the money should be spent on education since your question and rant contains such errors as "are money" for "our money" You would lose your bet and will have trouble getting a job with "too" and "mars" being errors by the third sentence. "hear" is wrong also.
Please note that the money is spent here on Earth and if you shut down NASA, besides losing the knowledge, all the grocery stores, etc., that service the NASA community would go out of business.

-Who keeps up with our satellites up in space?
-Who detects whether or not we are in danger from outside forces like astriods or black holes?
-Who gave us our technology to be able to predict the weather?
-Where does your internet and cell phones come from??
-And more importantly, since when did wasting money to fund a stupid war in iraq or to film a damn movie help feed the poor??
So its fine that the governmen spends millions to build bombs, and invade other countrys that have nothing to do with us? Its good that the government spends extra taxpayer money to bailout other businesses and give AIG exectutives bonuses? How does any of that help feed the poor????
Come back and ask this question again when you have your facts straight and know what you'll talking about......i would love to hear you ask this when an astriod is predicted to hit earth and kill you....

They are looking spending less money than we spend in Iraq every year & they're accomplishing something with it. When's the last time you saw a Martian plotting an overthrow of Earth since we kicked Marvin's butt?

When I was your age, I too was convinced I was the smartest person in the world and had all the answers. But I have the decency to be embarrassed about it.
