Although I'm 17 and I've begged my mom for permission to get a tattoo (she's said no every single time though), I personally wouldn't let my daughter get a tattoo. I would want her to wait until she is of legal age. At 16 you think a lot differently than you would when you're 18, 20, 25, which is when you can legally get one done. It may be inkless, but still I would have her wait. She may regret it by the time she's 18. But piercings would be fine with me, because they can be taken out and can heal up.

If I had it my way, the legal age would be 21. At 18, I won't be able to stop my daughter, she has the legal right to do it, but, I really think 18 is still young, people haven't lived life, they haven't established themselves for who they are. Just my thoughts though, but, 18 would be the youngest, I would never take my minor child to get a tattoo.

As far as the inkless tattoo, it's just scarification, and if she doesn't abuse it while it heals, she may not scar and get the desired result. Horrible idea.

um im not a mom im a kid so you don't have to listen to what i think i but i think it will help. but i think u have to be 18 and then she is an adult so yea. but i would talk to her have her plan it out or have the artist draw it and see if it looks ok then ask her if she would still want it when shes 80.(but if its a inkless tattoo it should fade away but yea)

    17. I knew what tattoos I wanted then and got them once I turned 18. Angel wings is a cool idea. Let her get them.

Never ever would I want her to destroy her innocent clear skin with a smudge of ink - not even at 30 or 40 or even 60. No tattoo is worth it.

i was 17 and my sister was 15 when we got our tattoos and i say make her wait until she is old enough to legally get it done! we went to this guy's house to get them done, and my sister ended up wanting another one and chickened out during it so now she has "s" and half a "t" on her ribs for the rest of her life. tell this to your daughter and maybe she will want to wait!

plus now that i'm 18 i wish i had waited to so i could have signed off on the waiver, like i did for my bellybutton piercing.

    I would say about 17 or 18.
