Dreams are a processing of our internal emotions on a much deeper level than our intellect. Because of this, our dreams are full of symbolism rather than actual events or even logic. Movies and Television are specifically designed to evoke emotional responses. If they didn't, they would be boring and no one would watch!
The images in our dreams evoke, or represent our emotions in the same way. Your dream may have been very similar to a movie or a TV show that you saw. Since your subconscious related closely to that emotion and the way it was depicted in the show, it brought back similar images to help you process your personal subconscious thoughts in dream land.
Hope this helps!

I was just a wee lad when Signs came out. My God, I slept outside my parents' room for weeks. Which is great, cause like everything of the sort, those things don't scare me now, as I'm sure goes for everyone here, but we're always terrified as young ones, but when we're older, it's not so much.

so many times. If I watch a scary movie, I'll be scared while thinking about the movie, I fall asleep. I dream of a scary situation with me in it just like the movie but while I'm dreaming it seems so real.
TV does influence a lot in dreams that's if you get the story stuck in your head. I think we dream whatever we think about or worried about during the day
