Why does windows vista keep wanting to format a blank cd's when I try to copy photos?

This may be a set default in the computer that is asking to reformat the disc, or it could have to do with the type of disc. Have you tried burning from another program, say burning music or simply burning a Word document?

Even with the prompts, you should still be able to burn, the discs, so at the very least it’s still operating in the way you’d like.
