I filed a lawsuit against a small business for negligence???
In October I was stepping out of my van and stepped into a pothole broke my ankle, and sprang the other one. I had to have surgery on the broken ankle plates and screws the whole thing, I have a large family I mostly have to support. I have been out of work since the accident. Which I stand at my job all day. I have a lawyer and I know it may be a long process but since we have filed in October we have not heard nothing from the business. The day it happened we did notify the business and left our number to contact I did not make a police report nor did I call an ambulance to embarrassed just wanted to get the hell out of there. Anyway my question is what happens if they don't contact me or my attorney. And what would be a fair price for a settlement what do you think?? Thanks for all who reply.
just a little note to all mainly the one who answered my question the Faq or who ever u are. I did fall and I was not alone I had to get help back up in my vehicle which then had to be driven to the emergency room

Hard to say; but one thing is certain, a personal injury suit is a long process most of the time, it may take up to three years or more from the date of the accident to receive compensation, if you are even successful,
At this point the companies insurance is going to stretch this one out, esp. without a police report, see its in the insurance companies best interest to delay a payment or even court case, the longer it takes the longer you are without payment, the longer you are out of work without income coming in, to wit usually in the end equates to your willing to take less in the long run
Be careful about taking an advance against the winning of the case from either a lawyer or third party for usually the monies come at a very high short term interest rate which if the suit takes along time the interest owed on the monies advanced to you may in the end take up to 1/3 of your monies

Nothing happens if they don't contact you or your attorney. Your attorney is going to have to press the issue and contact them. However, from what you described I doubt seriously that you have much of a case. Regardless, I hope things work out for you.

each and every American is injury by employing way of unlawful Immigrants being right here. they don't have have been given to mug you,yet they are going to. they do no longer ought to rob your place, despite the fact that in the event that they are going to. they don't have have been given to get below the effect of alcohol and run over your infants, despite the fact that in the event that they are going to. an somewhat considerable % of them in spite of each and every thing have little or no delight in for the regulation, why ought to they,we don't punish them for the criminal rules they have already broken so why no longer destroy extra? despite the fact that if while you examine out the depressing of wages, unpaid taxes on paintings performed interior the U. you fell on you ***.....got embarrassed and went home.....later discovering a pot hole in the vicinity you claim you broke one ankle and sprang the other ..(whatever sprang means) can't mean sprained because then how were you able to leave....i suppose a hundred bucks an hour for wasting the attorneys time....pay your attorney a thousand bucks....that's a fair freeloading fee i guess....
