Difference between haemorrhagic & Ischemic stroke on CT?
Any medical professionals out there who can give me a way to distinguish between haemorrhagic stroke and Ischaemic/thromboembolic stroke on CT scan?
Thanks

Blood appears white on a noncontrast CT which correlates with a hemorrhagic stroke. Ischemic stroke usually looks like a darkened area.

Hemorrhagic stoke-blood is visible in the brain in a ct without contrast
Ischemic stroke-"dead" areas of the brain can be seen on ct because thrombus has blocked a vessel an prevented blood flow to a given area. This type does not necessarily have any bleeding.
