(Doubles Tennis) If the player at net swings and misses the ball, can the person behind still hit the ball?

This is during a rally, not a serve. When I say the person at net misses the ball I mean he completely misses contact with the ball.

Yes. This strategy is often used to trick and confuse the other doubles team.

Doubles is a team sport; two players who work together will usually beat two players who don't work together as a team, even if the latter are each better individual players than the ones who work together as a team.

yes it can be done and its a good way to confuse ur opponent....

its a trick often used..bt 1 thing has to b made sure that the 1st person should not at all touch the ball by his racket.

and also the ball should not bounce in the legal court area more than once..

Yes, the person in the back can hit the ball, as his partner never made contact with it, so it would still be only be one hit.

Yes, if the player didn't touch the ball at all, then the other player can still hit it.
