should i still submit my letter of resignation?

my bosses know that I will be resigning from my position by the last day of april (by word of mouth). basically i told one person and then everyone knew and started asking me about it...(man, i learned my lesson). i have no binding contract with the company. should i still submit my letter of resignation? if i do, should i do it now (like tomorrow) or in two weeks?

thank youy for your help!

Most definitely. It shows your professionalism.Even though you told someone else before your boss haha. But yes you need to do that so they can never say you just abandoned the job.

You need not resign unless you are sure of quitting job on a certain date. If in doubt, wait till you are sure. Moreover, the employment terms may specify certain period of notice- usually one to three months. If there is any specified period for giving notice, you should give it well before quitting.

It is good business etiquette to turn in a formal resignation 2 weeks before you plan on leaving a company. ALWAYS. Nobody will be mad, they will appreciate that you didn't just leave them hanging. Never assume anything.

A two week written notice is polite and Professional.
