I think it is not correct, because you contribute to Yahoo!Answers by asking a question. In the Japanese Y!A there you get points when you ask a question.

By the way, you will get 3 points back, when you choose a "best answer" yourself.

    How to do it:

After a day or so, there will appear a bar under each answerer, and you can choose which one you liked best.

So the loss is not so bad.

    1. NO , definitely NO.

    2. in fact it should grant points for asking q's, for that's what the site survives on.

    3. if nobody asked a q, then no one will be answering.

    4. there is no confusion here which came first unlike the chicken and the egg theory. the q comes before a in yahoo answers.

    5. of course they can separate the points for q and a's.

    6. it is at yahoo answers that one finds the quote " a fool can ask more questions than a wise man can answer' invalid.

7.now that's my little effort in appreciating the enthusiastic contribution of fellow yahoo answerer's.

MAY THE TRIBE OF QUESTION MONGERS AND ANSWERER'S INCREASE.

Thats the policy of yahoo to deduct 5 points and answer 12 point if you answer the best

I think it is justified to deduct points for questions asked. If not, many would post utter non-sense and this forum would become a spammer's paradise.

Giving away 5 points is a small price to be able to shield oneself from spam and having your genuine question answered

They should deduct 10 points. I am ready to pay 20 for information. I have a lot of points.

    Uh yeah.

    -.-`

It's only fair for you to have to give 5 points to ask a question and get many opinions and earn more points to ask more questions by contributing answers to others.

It's like the ecosystem. It was meant to run like that for a reason.
