How do I get my braces to stop hurting?

I just got my lower braces and they hurt A LOT!!!! I can barely even eat! How can I make it stop hurting?

I just got both top and bottom ones today and i just keep eating ice-cream and it numbs it for a little while or eat something hot like macaroni and cheese. Or take some medicine
