Download the best anti virus present in the market, use the trial version, and it if says there is an infection, then clean it.
Otherwise, every virus makes its presence felt. If you find any unstable behavior in your computer, which extends for a long time, and also keeps on increasing its effect, it could very well be a virus.
Also if you have a look at your CPU, there is a small red light, that keeps flickering when you process anything on your PC. If that light keep flickering constantly, it is a sign of a virus.
I would also suggest you to buy an anti virus for yourself and keep yourself protected. You could also go for a free one, along with mcaffee (spelling could be wrong) browser plugin, enabling you to stay safe on the internet.
Good Luck.
