Notice to landlord, fixed term agreement.?

Hi, my tenancy agreement (fixed term) finish on 25 april, do I have to write 1 month notice to landlord if i want to move out of the flat? What if I'll do this on 15.04? Then I can move on 15.05?

Your tenancy will be an Assured Shorthold. When the fixed term expires it will automatically turn into a periodic tenancy on the same terms.

Strictly speaking you probably need to give 1 month's notice to leave, although your agreement may allow you to leave on the 25th without giving notice. But the landlord may (incorrectly) be expecting you to leave on the 25th, or he may be happy for you to leave then anyway.

If you wanted to stay your landlord would need to give you at least 2 month's notice before he could ask you to leave. The answer that says you have no right to be there after the 25th April is wrong.

According to the terms of a "fixed Term Agreement" it is what it says it is, a fixed term. If either the tenant or the LL whats to extend it, they have to contact each other. You are perfectly with-in your rights to walk away from the property on 24 April of before. If you stay until the 25 April, the landlord could take this as being !over your fixed tern" and you would be due to pay a further months rent.

If your tenancy agreement expires on 25 April, then you have no right to be in the flat after that date. Presumably the Landlord will tell you that if he finds you there after 25 April! Once the agreement has expired, unless a new agreement is entered into, you really have no right to be there. You can move the day the agreement expires without giving any further notice.
