Raw chicken and salmonella bacteria?

I have heard that we must not wash the raw chicken before cooking because of the salmonella bacteria can spread all over the sink ... but I think that the chicken has to be clean ... how do you handle raw chicken?

I agree, you should wash your chicken before cooking. As long as you clean your sink thoroughly after washing, you'll be fine. Common disinfectants destroy salmonella enterobacteria within a few minutes.

To protect against salmonella infection, it is recommended that food be heated for at least ten minutes at 75 degrees C (temperature at the center).

    Hope this helps.

Rinsing chicken will not "clean" it.When you bake it (properly) you will kill everything.

Still, I prefer to wash the blood off of my chicken before I cook it (because I'm weird like that lol)

If you plan to wash it before you cook it, do so carefully to prevent cross contamination.Have a cleaner out so you can disinfect the sink afterwords.Bleach will kill it.
