Issues with Belkin G+ MIMO Wireless Modem Router and AOL?

I recently purchased the Belkin ADSL 2+ G+ MIMO Wireless Modem Router, and was told it would be easy to set up using the disc etc. I have friends and colleagues using the same wireless modem router and have said that it is a great product once it is set up.

HOWEVER, I am on AOL. I have been led to believe there is compatibility issues? I have rang customer support etc from both belkin and AOL and to no avail.

My problem is this:

When I have gone through all the stages of the set-up disc, and got to the final screen where it says 'connecting to internet'... It will eventually come up with a screen stating something along the lines of 'Internet account settings not accepted'.

Could anybody please shed some light on why this could be? I've been trying this for about a week now, lol.

I have ensured that my AOL password is between 8 and 10 characters also, as I have heard that the router won't work if the password is any longer. All my details have been entered correctly and the router still refuses to connect to the internet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks in anticipation,

Steve.

The 4Mbps cost is the fee of the exterior connection via your ISP to the modem they gave you. The operation of your G (or N for that rely) router is genuinely self sufficient of this. The under pressure inner community speeds are 10/one hundred/one thousand watching the capablity of your cord community and the prompt is fifty 4 or much less reckoning on what proportion partitions, flooring and different junk are between you and the router.

Start with a wired (Ethernet) connection to the router.

It is best to setup the Belkin manually. That is in your Browser put in the Belkin router address which will be 192.168.0.1 or similar (check manual).

Then set up the router like this

If this works then you can setup the wireless part.
