Do you have to where elbow pads and knee pads when you ride in a motocross race?

The problem with a sport like mx is that you wear all the gear in the event of an accident and a lot of damage can be caused if you don't have the right stuff on. Yeah you may get away with it for a while but the day you do crash out it is always good to have as much safety gear on as possible. I know my son would not consider racing without elbow guards and knee braces on. But then not everyone can afford the knee braces, but really the elbow guards and knee pads are not very expensive at all. If you do get involved in a race incident you will be glad if you have them on.

I don't know anyone that wears elbow pads for motocross and I don't know anyone that doesn't wear knee pads. Some woods guys wear elbow pads but not too many of them do either. They are very restricting and uncomfortable not to mention the fact that most just slide on your arm and never stay in place. If you do want elbow protection I would suggest something like the 661 pressure suit.

Have you ever seen what happens when a person crashes without the proper safety gear on??? I have, it will turn your soft body into a bloody mess. Then you will never be able to ride again. USE all the safety gear you can, one mistake will affect the rest of your life. BECAREFUL!
