Teens, do you use this term?

Do you ever say "I'm in a funk" to describe a bad mood that lasts more then a day?

I'm 17 and I said that to my sister the other day and she was like "only old people say that, I've never heard a young person say that." I can't be the only one that says that...So do you say it?

If you don't use that term, do you ever say anything that could be considered "old"?

Update:

Haha, no one says it.

Maybe I'm just weird.

lol never heard of it, but thanks! you learn something new everyday!

i do say a lot of nerdy "old people" terms though... but at least that's better than old people saying "young people" terms lol, like teachers saying "don't be all up in my grill" or your parents saying "don't be tripping" or your grandparents saying "i'm cool, dog! i'm down with the youth!" trust me, i've been there, and it ain't pretty....

No I never say that, I sometimes use the term "fricken" without even thinking about it and then once I hear myself say it I feel soo embarrased because that term is soo old. It was used as a subsitute for the word "*******" so that I wouldnt get in trouble in school or at home when I was younger.

I do sometimes. My parents kind of got me into that. In high school, they always said that I needed to "get out of this funk". I think I began subconsciously using "I'm in a funk" when I was in a bad mood. I don't use it too much though, just on certain occasions.

I'm the same age as you, and yes, I've used the term "I'm in a funk," many times before. Nobody has ever commented on me saying it, though.

I've said it before, when I was talking to adults. Not to people my age, I speak differently, lol, to different people. But hey, my friend laughed at me for saying grocery store instead of supermarket or acme or a&p

I've never heard it. Ever. Well, you're the first one, I'VE ever heard it from... More like typed it... But, whatever.

Hm... Old... Uh... Well, I'm 11 and... I don't really use "old" phrases or anything, but I try to make my English make sense, or in otherwords, my English isn't as sloppy as my friends'.
