yes, if you have a vivid dream, and your mind believes it, then strong things, like pain, can trigger in your mind sending the shock. so basically, your mind imagines the pain and reacts and registers it. thats why sometimes when people die in their dreams, its possible to die in real life. if its vivid enough, your mind believes and reacts to it. but thats very rare. i doubt it'll happen again, so dont worry :)

I had a dream recently where I had pain and odd sensations in my body. I think I had the pain beforehand and it became a part of the dream.

that has happened to me. where in real life me and my dad were fighting then i dreamed a good police friend of mine came over and took his side and lit me on fire chasing me down the street.

well I think you didn't feel the pain in your ream but actually your body felt the pain. I think that your body translated that pain into your dream.
