My iPod is messed up please help!!?
I have a 3rd gen iPod Nano and there is a problem with it. When I go to "cover flow", the album covers don't show up and some of them are just a bunch of multi-colored pixels. when i try to play the song, it goes to the next screen for a second, then goes back to the cover flow, so i can't play any songs. is this a virus, or do i just need to charge it more? thanks so much for help

The very first thing I would do is try to perform a soft reset on your iPod. You can do this by holding down the center circle button and the "Menu" button at the same time for at least 15 seconds (don't worry this won't erase any of your files). If the restart is successful, A silvery Apple icon will show up in the middle of the screen. The iPod should go back to the starting menu, if it doesn't just hold down the play button until it does.
If that doesn't solve the problem, I would next go to you iTunes account and check to make sure that all your albums have artwork loaded. If you do have to add artwork, just right click the album artwork frame and choose "Get Album Artwork". If any artwork needs to be added either delete the album on your iPod and resync the album with the newely added artwork or you can go to your iPod's library and add it manually.
If you still cannot succesfully see your album artwork, try checking to see if your iPod's firmware is up to date. You can check this by plugging in your iPod and then clicking on the iPod icon in your iTunes. A seperate menu should appear that shows a model of your iPod and also diplays the name of your iPod. Mid-page, there should be an section titled "Version". Click the button that says "Check for Update". This will scan the software on your iPod and compare it to the lastest version available. If your iPod needs to be updated, a prompt will appear that will ask you to update your software.
Finally if all else fails, perform a system restore on your iPod. You can do this by plugging in your iPod and clicking the iPod icon in your iTunes. In the same section as the "Check for Update" button, there should be a button that says "Restore". This will restore your iPod to factory default. Warning: This will erase any songs, pics, videos etc., that are loaded on your iPod.
Hope this answers your question :-).
