Has anyone had Blu Ray player problems?
I recently rented a copy of Slumdog Millionaire on Blu Ray when I tried to play it on my blu ray player it said I had to go to the manufacturers web site and get a software update before I could play this movie. I did this and there was no new update . I just bought this player a few months ago. Did anyone else encounter this problem?

We have never had this problem and we have had our blu ray player for over a year and a half I would suggest calling the manufacturer or emailing them on their website.

Getting a disk that works requires a content format that the player will understand, and some players that will accept a CD of mixed content (JPG pics, MP3's etc..) will only accept DVD media in DVD-Video format. For DVD+R, it may help if the media is bitset/booktyped to identify as DVD-ROM - this is a standard option for some writers, or a firmware hack for others
