That's pretty good advice. It has oil of cloves which is a old but effective dental remedy. There are temporary products that can fill a lost filling preparation with eugenol which are effective as well. Do get to the dentist as soon as possible.

Does the tooth hurt? Red Cross contains some medicine to help the nerve of the tooth calm down when it aches. If it doesn't hurt then I wouldn't even bother with it. Another thing you can try is a temporary filling material that they sell in the drugstore, again only if the tooth is sensitive to air or sharp to the tongue. Sometimes a tooth breaks and for various reasons there is no pain. If it doesn't hurt no need to do anything until the dentist looks at it. If it does, fill the hole with the temporary filling and have him take some ibuprofen for pain. Good luck.
