besides music, language is my biggest passion. I love learning foreign language. I'm already good at english, spanish, brazilian portuguese,

and I'm able to make basic conversation in dutch, danish, swedish, norwegian, finnish, russian and mandarin chinese. I want to have a career in foreign language. That would be great. I just went out this evening and I got Teach Yourself Afrikaans, which looks to be interesting.

I love learning lanuages too! wow you know a lot of lanuages! I think learning new languages is fun too. I;ve never been a straight A student, but since I started with portuguese class and Italian with the same teacher, I get nothing but As and even A in midterms!! The reason why I get straight As is because I actually get it and I like studying it. My mother language is spanish but when I came here I learned english and now I took 2 years of portuguese and I can have conversations with brazilians and this is my first year in italian, and I cant kind of speak it; so I speak spanish, english, portuguese and a bit of Italian. :)

Also, portuguese and Italian were easy for me because I speak spanish and since they are Romance lanuages, they are similar in some way or another.. I love that!!! I just need to learn french, but I don't like french, I'd rather speak Chinese :)

I love learning new languages and using them with natives, i travel a lot and i've learned kinda many, english, norwegian, swedish (they are almost same, and as i speak norwegian i understand also danish), french, spanish those are the ones i've studied. I'm native finnish speaker so that's not problem to me. I would love to learn more languages! I ain't no school learner i learn by action, best way is to move to country and live with locals and learn language and work there. Write something? What you want? I have Mercury Capricorn in 6th house. Other way i'm rising Leo. Wow Michael R, do you know Finnish!! So cool someone learns it!

Wowww, I thought I was the only one out there! Learning languages is one of my only and greatest passion. I find it saddening to know that people think it's weird, because I see so much fun and beauty in languages and the similarity between them. I love doing research on how languages originate from their ancient mother languages and how they inherited the grammatical rules and the vocabulary. I basically love languages! My favourite language is French, what about yours?

Hey, you want to talk on MSN or something? Just mail me if you're interested :)

Edit: I agree with Kate J! And then we could all practice them and we might teach eachother too!

Edit: Oh, I'm just adding something awesome I recently found out. French has a word that has all the vowels in a row: ils "jouaient", meaning "they played". Anyone that has another word with all the vowels put in a row?

Source(s): I'm a native bilingual (Dutch & Papiamento), language lover & French addict.

I love learning other languages, it is just so interesting! Sometimes it's funny to play jokes on my non-other-language-speaking-friends. I told one of my best friends to ask a guy from Colombia what "tengo pene pequito" means. So he actually did and he was like, "hey, hey you! Can you tell me what Tengo pene pequito, means?" And the Colombian guy was like laughing and said, "Don't worry about it."

I already speak English (lol), Español.

I'm learning Português (because I want to go to Brazil one day), and Francais (because I live in Canada, I've already have taken 11 years of it).

I think listening to music in other languages really helps me learn it, and talking to people that I know that speak the language.

You're lucky you know how to communicate in so many languages!

You'd probably be offered a Translater job or something.
