I have an egg question About 2 weeks?
ago I made some scrambled eggs. I was instantly ill. This week I purchased eggs at a different store. Different brand of eggs. I noticed that the egg that made me ill was brown inside where the air pocket was. Yesterday I boiled some of the new eggs. When I peeled them one had the same brown spot so I tossed it. What causes the brown spot? What is it and is that what made me so "ill" ?

It is either a blood or meat spot that has caused the problem.

That brown spot is common when the egg has been over boiled. It is not an indication that the egg is bad. It usually indicates the spot where the egg touched the bottom of the pot. Notice the shell is also stained at the point. You either got a hold of a bad egg or you are allergic to them. The best way to boil an egg is to start with cold water, gently drop the raw eggs in the water, bring to high boil, and turn the fire down to medium, let boil 10 minutes and not much longer than 12 or 15. Over boiling eggs will cause the whites to be rubbery.

The brown was caused by blood from a baby chick forming. The egg you ate was fertilized and was forming. It's not uncommon to pop open an egg from the store and find baby chicks in them. Try the water test that works~

The egg probably made you ill because it was starting to rot. Probably because it had a slight crack in it's shell. Could have been there for weeks. Or it could have been dried chicken blood. That's why I don't boil eggs in their shell. I gently crack and open them into a dish. Inspect. Then Fry, scramble, or poach. Good Luck.

you may have an allergy to the animal fats in eggs...
stop eating them.
no, there's no soluble proteins in eggs.. but there's tons of cholesterol.
want protein? eat an avocado... the egg of the fruits category.
many folks can't eat eggs for the very same reason... spots are natural occurrences in eggs.... i'm sure the eggs are usable... but just find other things to eat that do not disagree with your digestive system.

Before cooking your eggs try this. Fresh eggs will not float in water.
If they float pitch them.
