Absolutely worst fiction you've ever read? (mind-numbingly bad, laughably awful stuff)?
Weird....I LIKE awful things (for example, Ed Wood's "Plan 9 From Outer Space" is one of my favorite movies).
So here's your chance to make my day.... what are the absolutely truly worst, God-awful, horrible FICTION books/stories you've ever read? (OK to make up 2 lists---"modern fiction" and "classic or school req'd readings". JUST fiction; non-fiction is a little too likely to be rated "bad" because of a disagreement concerning a philosophy/belief.)
Not just "boring", or "loaded with Mary Sue characters" or "lacks a plot". I want horrible books with ALL of those---and even more! Bring on the endless cliches, jarring anachronisms, hilariously earnest bad dialogue, seventeen-page-long descriptions that were all-too-obviously obviously cribbed from travel books/psych texts/technical manuals....
Let's hear about books that are SOOOOO awful that you'd rather drill holes in your own skull, rather than read them again. Or books that could be the core of a good party game: "Let's see who can read this stuff out loud the longest, without breaking into giggles or changing facial expression!"
Sharpen your claws, dig back into memory, and have at it!
WHOOOOAH! *Twilight* definitely sounds like something to check out....
But certainly there are ***other*** wonderfully awful, horrible books that folks have suffered through?....come on, cough (vomit?) it up; let's have a summer's worth of reading!

Any of those dreadful 'woman alone against adversity, fighting for her place in the business world by day, falling into the arms of her secret lover by night' type things people like Danielle Steele write, they almost make me wish I was illiterate.
But it HAS to the Twicrap books, I mean come on! A vampire who is an Emergency Room doctor? With half a dozen foster children that the authorities never check out? Who are all only 10 years younger than him and his wife? An hospital doctor who takes days off when the sun shines? Who gets to take his 'foster kids' out of school for a romp in the forest on nice days? Puuhleeeeeeze!

Once I was at a friend's house and was about to take a long train ride back home. His wife gave me an old paperback. A Sue Grafton mystery. Absolutely terrible. How this stuff gets published is beyond me. I think I got to page 12 before I decided staring out the window was more entertaining.

Twilight, It's the most boring, plot less and repetitive vampire story ever.
I could laugh at how bad the plot is, not to mention the ridiculous characters. I'm surprised it got published.
Stephenie Meyer can't write for crap. Twilight and all its companions are just SMeyer's sexual fantasies penned down.

Some Stephen King books are absolute crap. "From a Buick 8" was probably one of the worst books I have ever read. Some of his other works are very bad, full of holes, full of useless bits.

Aretha Franklin's autobiography. It's supposed to be factual but the woman is clearly delusional.

Dearie, if you want all of those, then read Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. Countless times I fell off my chair laughing from the idiocy, and most of the time I wanted to gouge out my eyes and rip out my hair.

Any of the Twilight series. They're absolutely ridiculously and laughably bad.

My fingers hurt from just typing the name of that dreaded thing.
