What is going on in my Yahoo Email Account?
When I try to open my Emails my Computer freezes up. Strangely this only happens in my Yahoo Email Account, and never in my People Pc Email Account ! Here is what happens :
1) I click on Mail , and get a blank page, I can't get out of it, it just freezes. I have shut down the power to my computer, and restart it.
2) Or, I click on Mail, it goes to mail page, but when I click on In Box everything freezes. I can't get out, I have to shut down the power, and restart.
3) If I get into my In Box, and click on an Email..... well, you know.
4) If I finely manage to get into an Email, and I am reading it, very frequently, it will just suddenly disappear, and in it's place is a page telling me that,"Web Page Could Not Be Found" (THIS IS WHILE I AM READING AN EMAIL !).
5) Lastly, if the Email I am reading has an Attachment, I click on that and it comes up blank, if I try to "X" out of the Attachment I will be sent back to my Desk Top ! Instead of the Email.
Now, I have thought I had a Bug, but I don't have any problems like this anywhere but in Yahoo ! If I use my People Pc Email Account none of these things happen. It is making it impossable for me to use my Email Account in Yahoo, because I have to shut off my computer, and restart it 2 to 4 times before I can read any Emails, and still I can be in the middle of them, and everything goes crazy !
SO, YAHOO ! WHAT'S GOING ON ?
As long as I stay out of my Email Account this dosen't happen. I can search all I want, but as soon as I click on Mail, all you know what breaks loose !

Yahoo! Help top troubleshooting recommendations:
There are (6) recommendations:
1. Use a supported browser
====================
☼ The all-new Yahoo! Mail supports these browsers► Internet Explorer 6.0 and newer, Firefox 1.5 and newer, Safari 3, Netscape 7.2, and Google Chrome. [ Operating Systems Supported: Windows 2000, XP or later, Mac "Tiger" and "Leopard" (10.4 & 10.5)]
☼ Yahoo! Mail Classic supports any browser that has JavaScript support.
► Also, it might help to CLEAR YOUR BROWSER'S CACHE http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/classic/sett... .
2. Enable JavaScript
================
JavaScript is a simple programming language that's essential to any current web site. Make sure that you have JavaScript enabled. Here's how:
☼ Internet Explorer:
- From the "Tools" menu, click Internet Options.
- Click on the "Advanced" tab and then, in the "Settings" list, scroll down to the "Security" section.
- Check the box beside "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer".
- Click OK.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK one more time.
- Close and relaunch Internet Explorer.
☼ FireFox:
- From the "Tools" menu, select Options.
- Click the "Content" tab.
- Select both "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript".
- Click OK.
- Close and relaunch Firefox.
►► If enabling JavaScript in your browser did not fix your issue, move on to the next most likely possibility. ▼
3. Install the latest Java Runtime Environment
===================================
The Java Runtime Environment contains essential updates to the Java programming language, developed by Sun Microsystems. To ensure you’ve got the latest package installed, try downloading and installing the latest version of this software. It's available as a free download here ► http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
►► Did this correct the issue you’re having? If not, move on to the next likely possibility: ▼
4. Temporarily disable antivirus/antispy/firewall products
==========================================
One of your security applications could be causing a problem with Yahoo! Mail.
► To check, try disabling your security software to see if the issue goes away.
☼ For most security software products, you can right-click on the security software icon in the lower-right corner of your screen. Usually this pops up a menu with Preferences or disable as options.
☼ Please note: In some cases, you might not be able to completely disable the security software. The directions for each security software package differ from vendor to vendor. If you need help, please get in touch with your security software vendor or computer Help desk.
►► Did disabling your security software products resolve the issue? If not, please try the next set of recommendations.
5. Disable browser add-ons and plug-ins
=============================
"Add-ons" or "plug-ins" work with browsers to make them more useful. Common add-ons or plug-ins include (but aren't limited to):
- Toolbars
- News or Stock Tickers
- Instant Messaging
- Weather alerts
- Email alerts
- Antivirus/Antispy
- Games
Some add-ons or plug-ins can actually cause problems running some web sites. To find out if one of them is interfering with Yahoo! Mail, please try one of the following tasks for your specific browser:
☼ If you're running Internet Explorer:
- Close all Explorer windows and exit the application.
- Click Start, then Settings, then Control Panel.
- Double-click Internet Options.
- Click the "Advanced" tab.
- Under "Browsing", un-check the "Enable third-party internet browser extensions" check box.
- Click OK.
- Relaunch Internet Explorer.
☼ For Firefox:
- From the "Tools" menu, click Extensions.
- Disable or uninstall extensions found here.
- Click OK.
- Close and relaunch Firefox.
- For FireFox 2.0:
- From the "Tools" menu, click Add-ons.
- Disable or uninstall extensions found here.
- Click OK.
- Close and relaunch Firefox.
Note: Once a Firefox extension has been uninstalled, you can reinstall it by visiting the Firefox extension library here ► https://addons.mozilla.org/?application=firefox
☼☼ Once you've successfully disabled your browser's add-ons or plug-ins, try your Yahoo! Mail account again. Compose, reply, or forward a message. Did the steps above fix the problem? If so, an add-on or plug-in in your Internet browser is the cause.
To re-enable the add-ons or plug-ins in your browser, just repeat the steps listed above, now adding a check to enable them (instead of un-checking). Once you've figured out which add-ons or plug-ins are causing the issue, please contact the vendor for help.
►► If disabling plug-ins or add-ons didn’t resolve the trouble you’re having with your Yahoo! Mail account, try the last approach:
6. Try another computer with a different ISP
=================================
Try accessing your Yahoo! Mail account from another computer at a different location. This is to check if your internet service provider (ISP) might be causing the problem. So, if possible, make sure you're on a machine that connects to the internet via a different ISP. If Yahoo! Mail works on this other computer, your issue is with your ISP. Give them a call and see if they are experiencing issues.
☼☼☼ Still not working?

(1) If you use Mail Classic ► http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/classic/help...
(2) If you use All-New Mail ► http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/he...

Well I guess Mizo said it all.
I have the same problem with mine.
My son in law took it home with him. My computer had over 160 infections and several threats.
I have 3 anti-virus and spyware protection and scanning software.
My computer freezes, it shuts down, it slows down. It has been like for about 3 weeks now.
You are not alone. Just hang in there brother.

Bill, I'm having the same problems; I thought it was just my computer acting up. But now, I'm finding that several folks are having the same problem. Must be a Yahoo glitch.

Is there no way to get rid of those unwanted ads in your PRIVATE e-mail? I've tried delete, unsubscribe, and writing yahoo to no avail?
