I think that the packing used for dry socket is being healed up over by my gums.Isn't it suppose to come out?

on it's own?I have had it in for a week now and it has been 2 weeks sense I got my wisdom teeth out.I don't want to go back to the dentist if I don't have too.

There are two kinds of packing. One does dissolve and the other has to be removed. You probably have the dissolving type but it wouldn't hurt to call the dental office to check for sure.

It doesn't come out but it dissolves. You have nothing to worry about.
