SharePoint Index Server?

Will a standalone Index Server has SQL Server along with it ?

If Im setting up a standalone Index Server..what do I need on that box ? Windows 2003 and..?

Please help.

    if u want to use sql server...then why u need windows 2003...

    u use sql server from xp also...

    first install IIS in xp... and then use sql server.... i think u not need a required server window to use sql.
