I keep getting these e-mails about fraudulent activity on an account?!?

I keep getting e-mails saying there were attempts on accounts of mine, to contact the banks, but as far as I know I do not have accounts or a credit card with these Banks, it sounds legit, but I don't know if I should follow up, could it be a scam?

Mick knows what he's talking about. In my town the much used Credit Union's names of users got out of their hands and into the hands of a scammer. These people then called members and told them that their account had questionable purchases on them and they needed the card number verified to pursue it. In all 500 people fell for it and had money stolen from them.

They did call me to, left a message and said it was urgent I call them back. I never did, but by this time the scam was already in the papers.

I know your situation is different, but do not contact them.

I've heard of similar situations lately. It's a fraud and you must be very careful. People I know have had this happen. The next thing you know they want all of your personal information like your SS number, date of birth, etc.

You should report these activities to the IRS and the FBI. I know it sounds crazy but it's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!
