Closed and turned cervix?

I went in for my pap today and it was very painful my doctor said my cervix was closed and turned what would cause this?I have had a cone biopsy about 3 or 4 years ago and I have been to the doctor for paps several times after and never has it been closed.what would cause this ? It hurt when she tried to do the pap cause she said she couldnt get a proper sample cause of it being closed .Im fixing to have my period any day now could this be what is causing it to close so tight?will it open back up ?Now Im scared to go back for a pap cause it hurt bad.Thanks.
