can you put a really nice network card (1000Mb/s LAN wireless N) into an old computer?

I have an old computer that I built in 2000. runs updated winxp. only pci slots available. If I can find a pci network card that's 1000Mb/s and a wireless one that's like dualband N+ (or whatever the best technology is), can my computer handle it?

The computer should be able to install it. But it might be a waste of money. The computer cannot supply the data fast enough to the interface

    Absolutely.

Heck yeah! Just make sure you install it correctly.

The age of the machine doesn't necessarily matter as much as the ability to install the newer drivers

ideally confident. you would be wanting the drivers for the previous prompt card. it is going to easily plug appropriate in. you could pull the drivers from dells internet site, or off the previous lap precise. seek for the driving force, deploy it on the hot computing device, and you're able to be high quality
