how do I participate in Tie busters?

So I joined tie busters yesterday. I get emails with blogs or some thing. How do I just go to the questions that are tied and break the tie with my vote. I thought that I was going to get an email with a list of questions that needed to be voted on.

No, you have to go to the old questions. You can vote in any category of choice, or you can vote in whatever the focus category is as set by the Group's moderator. Here's what I do:

Go to a category or sub-category where you want to clear up some undecided questions. Then click on the "Vote undecided questions" tab. Click on the number seven (7) at the bottom of the list to get to page 7. Below is a link, in which I've added spaces so the whole thing appears. It's not something you need to click on or go it. It's just for purposes of these instructions.

See that number 7 near the end (=7&)? To get to MUCH higher pages for much older questions that are sitting in ties waiting to be resolved, replace that 7 with a higher number... like 50, or 100. In this case, I replaced it with 100, and it brought me to questions that were 3 months old. I probably could have put 200, for even older questions. Here's the resulting link. When you click on it, you will see the full link at the top of the page, and will see where I replaced the number 7 with 100

As far as I know, the TieBusters select a particular category/subcategory to focus on. So once you know which category it is that they're addressing now, this is what you do to find tie-breakers:

    1) Go to that Category. If you don't know where to find it, here's a complete chart of YA categories (http://www.freewebs.com/calitorial/chartofcategori... )

    2) Click on the Voting (Undecided) tab

    3) Sort the Questions from Oldest to Newest (click on the "Date" sorting option)

    4) Disregard the first Questions in the list - they'll probably be Deleted or Resolved. The actual Undecided Qs will probably be from page 2 onwards.

    5) Click on the Undecided Questions - it's better to open them in separate windows or tabs so you don't lose the original list - and start Voting :-)

That's it. Also, I highly recommend you send an email and ask the TieBusters for help since you're new at this. And also check the "Files" section of the Group, perhaps they have documents with these instructions for new members.

  • welcome to tie busters

most members are trying to clear the 50 000 back log of undecided in movies (if you go onto the American site all the english ones are there)there are only about 2000 on the UK site

just click on the flag at the bottom of the answers web page to go to that site

    but answer where you like

if when you go onto a subject ~then click on undecided ~you will see (left hand side ) sort by date ~if you click on it you get the oldest questions first~

if you find that the questions have been voted on ,just go to say page 5 from page 1

hope this helps and thank you for joining and helping

just edit your Question if you need more info

if any one else would like to join ~http://groups.yahoo.com/

will find the groups home page (all groups) type ~Tie Busters ~into search

at this moment there are 5 000 000 (yes 5 million) undecided questions to vote on (thats 50 000 000 + points to be awarded for best answers),people who answer deserve their points.

    once again thank you
