what would you do if we went into a depression a big one?

what would you do? where would you go? do you have land to grow your vegtables? fruit? and deer to hunt and water to fish? I am curious as to answers from people around the world how would you get things from others? would you barder? do you do crafts do you have special talents to help others? would you help your neighbor?

Update:

this is not a stupid question and excuse me its barter you are right. I simply asked a question thats what this place is for and thank gawd I live a mile from water I have land and I live in a great state where we would all help eachother if a great depression did happen. I hope others answer because I am curious with the way our world is going and it is obvious that eventually our dollar may be worth nothing what ways will you and your family survive? lets be kind its a simple question

Well I am not sure which house I would live in, probably this one, it would be better for my dogs. I already grow vegetables and have fruit trees and they are budded out, so if the wind would settle down, I will get peaches and apples. We do have a pond with fish, however, my husband is a health inspector, so he won't let us eat the fish. We have been bartering for years, it is something we are comfortable with, we do it all the time. Oh, well with bartering it depends on the person. I am often asked to bake, and I have wonderful cutting gardens, so I have also been asked to provide flowers to places. My husband and I flip houses, so we have done work for others and others have done work for us. We have also traded posessions with others. Yes, we are known for helping our neighbors. We are also know for leaving veggies and flowers on a door step of a neighbor to brighten a day. We will help you cut down your tree, or train your dog, or house sit your cat. I got shots once from a health center for a roll of stickers and some peanut butter cookies. (they gave stickers to little kids who got shots, and I had this huge roll at home, and I needed shots for my food handler card.) My vet would cut my dogs nails, and I would bake her peanut butter cookies. Once I took all my dogs in for shots, and I was getting ready to write the check and she changed the price on me. She charged me a small fee and asked me to bake for her staff for the next 4 fridays. I never asked her why she wanted that, I just assumed it was hard to be a vet just then, they must have been having some dogs die or something. So for 4 fridays I delivered a basket full of all kinds of goodies for her and her staff. People will barter with you for all kinds of thing, you just have to ask.

I don't think anyone is capable of accurately answering that question unless they've been in that situation before. Of course everyone would say they'd do all that. That doesn't mean they would. And anyway, economic depression != 100% collapse of society. If someone already has their house paid off, it's not going to vanish into thin air. And basic needs stores won't shut down.

well the only thing one can do really is to fight to survive because im sorry to say it but in this case its survival of the fittest but survival isnt just based on the survival of ones self because if someone they stand by falls than tat person will fall as well
