How do you handle cold callers and how much do they irritate you?

Dont answer the phone to unknown or witheld numbers, or the door to unknown callers and have a note on my door saying no cold callers. (we have a lot of Jehovahs Witnesses door knocking round my way, bored of telling them I worship the devil etc)

I used to pretend to be purely an corporation of the abode, and tell them to call decrease back while the abode proprietors have been in.. Then i pretended it replaced right into a foul line, and that i could no longer pay attention them... Now i cant be bothered, so i tell them bluntly i'm no longer involved, and slam the telephone down.. I many times experience extremely sorry for chilly callers, in the event that they could take care of human beings like me.. even though if, i so like great call's theory of telling them to hold on because of the fact somebody's on the door, and then retaining them waiting for a million/2 an hour that i think of i will attempt that subsequent time.. It depends on what sort of cold caller they are. People who are trying to sell things like windows or doors irritate me more but I am never rude, just give a polite no thank you and if they push on I just hang up.

Other cold callers such as banks don't bother me so much because sometimes they are offering services which I benefit from such as savings accounts or a mortgage review.

I just do not answer my phone that does the trick have no had a cold caller for a while , famous last words.

I interrupt them to say "I am busy right now, but if you give me your home phone number, and the time in which you sit down to have dinner with your family, I will make sure to call you back at that time". They usually stop calling after the first time.

I just walk off and replace the receiver back after about 10 minutes.

Just in case they call back.

A soon as I hear " Good Morning, am I speaking with Mrs...?" The phone goes straight down. :)

I have caller ID and if the number isn't familiar, I don't answer it.

I tell them straight out how annoying they are. They still do when you're on the do not call list. They deserve it.
