help on Nero 8 ultra on burning cds to dvds please?

hi guys! i have a cd and i want the files to be transferred to a dvd coz my laptop is unable to read cds but only dvds.anyways i have nero 8 on the other pc which reads both cd/dvd. i have attempted to burn the cd's files to a dvd+r and it prompted that it was successful. but when i used it on my laptop, the dvd is blank and the drive kind of lags. so i tried dvd-rw so as not to waste discs by just simply formatting them if the process fails.

my problem is, i get confused with the type of burning i should use becoz nero has (i think) 3 kinds of burning softwares in one.

which should i use? can you provide me with a step-by-step solution?

thanks guys! be looking forward!

Update:

yes my pc doesnt read cds coz something went crazy with the drive but i can watch dvd movies 100% clean.the only problem is that with my burned dvd from cd files. im using winXP and i have just reformatted my pc the other day.

and also, just a few months ago i have successfully burned a cd installer to become a dvd and when i tried it on it was ok. i just wonder what the matter could be.

i've never seen a dvd on a computer that doesn't read cds, are you sure?

if so, yes it really depends on what you're trying to accomplish. if you're actually only transfereing computer files from 1 to the other, it really shouldn't matter and nero will ask you, movies, music, or data.

it sounds like the dvd on your laptop may have an issue, not the burning you're doing. have you tried a regular cd or dvd, retail that is?

    more input needed.

also, if you're using xp, you don't need nero to burn cds unless you installed the 'in-cd' from the nero package. if so, you may need the decoder on the laptop or to install the whole package on the laptop...

if you're using vista or win7, you can do the same w/ dvds too.

still here if you have more info...

Yeah it took me about wasting 10 dvds to figure out how to make dvds. I have nero 7 U.E. and it works fine. I think i know what ur problem is. When ur making the dvd, right before you burn it on the final step thing, you'll see a type of speed switch thing it's kinda hard to explain, but what you do is you can either change the speed of the writing speed or make it so that it automatically adjusts to the speed hope this helps
