How do I teach myself to sing?
ok so I wanna teach myself to sing how? what do I do? umm I try to pronounciate the sounds kinda like Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, and Haley Williams I've been compared to them several times I think I can ing pretty well just want to be able to sing higher stuff ya know Thanks !! (NOT TRYING TO BE EGOTISTIC BUT JUST THOUGHT THIS INFO MIGHT HELP)

to be honest, teaching yourself to sing isn't the BEST idea, there's SO much to learn, especially technique-wise. you could hurt your voice if you sing the wrong way (not saying that you do, I'm saying I've known people who have lost their voice temporarily because they were doing a technique wrong).
I'd suggest getting a voice teacher.
but if you insist on teaching yourself, use a piano to practice. just match pitch and practice getting higher. like try hitting a higher note every day or something.
