Logically, would there be any point in reporting my own answer?

All my question notifications are coming up with a "?" not a name. Thus i don't know who is asking the question if it is deleted by the time i respond.

The multiple notifications for BA does not give multiple 10pts thus it is annoying. I received close to 100 notifications for one BA. My tip is get another BA and the system may reset.

Is P3D a flashlight? No it is not.

The cult of P3D keeps the meaning so hidden that most of them do not know what the P3D stands for!!! Whilst i know the meaning of 2 of the 3 Ps. I will in time discern the other P and the D.

Thus why are you so confused about and curious about "The Arc Light", are such things are beyond your keening?

You can put a filter for the best answer emails in your email options, so that those emails go into the spam folder, or the trash folder, or wherever you want. That way they won't be clogging up your inbox. This particular glitch happened a few months ago, and it took Yahoo a couple days to sort it out, and that was before the last layoffs. So don't count on them solving it anytime soon.

You can't report your own answer. If you look at the answer, you'll see that the report abuse button is grayed out, preventing you from reporting it. I don't think having someone else report your answer would stop the emails anyway, your best answer is already in the system and you'd probably keep getting BA notifications for an answer that's already there. Plus reports affect your account in a negative way.

I know this is annoying, last time it happened I got 2 BA and they kept repeating over and over again. Plus someone reported the question on one of them, so I couldn't even see what answer I gave to get BA! But even though the question was gone, I still kept getting the notification.

Now, if Yahoo would only have a glitch that involved people getting extra points.....

This is a current glitch with Yahoo! Answers.

many people at the moment are receiving many duplicate Best Answer notifications.

I doubt getting your answer would stop it, because the duplications may still well keep reeling in, and also sooner or later you will receive new best answers, and getting violations is a one way ticket out of here so its not worth it.

I remember we experienced this glitch about 8 months ago on the site, and by the time it was fixed i had received around 60 best answers, but have been give around 720 emails regarding them!

I notice some people saying change your settings for when Yahoo! Emails you, but this is only possible for:

-Emails telling you that you have a new answer to your question

-Emails telling you that one of your contacts has asked a new question

-Email telling you someone has become your fan on Yahoo! Answers

As you do not have the Option to opt out from receiving Best Answer notifications, you cannot stop it. (its up to Yahoo! to fix the glitch)

It is impossible to report your own answer.

The emails are a bit much though! I have only recd 70, so I guess I am lucky.

I would guess that even if your answer were deleted, you would continue to receive the emails. And unfortunately, I don't know that "logic" is the prevailing sentiment here.

Have you tried waving the arc light at the yamsters?

This is happening to everyone. Ride it out with the rest of us. ;) (I only have 25, but there is someone who has gotten 148) (edit) Someone down below has suggested getting new BA's may reset this problem. Sadly, no they don't. And you don't get notification on them either. Thank god??

Markyy, Yahoo Q/A is screwed up screen wise. I suspect its because of all the lay offs here in Silicon Valley. Parts of the this area and businesses ( like all over the country) have gone belly up. Seems to me that we are getting away with a lot more "chatting" on here, but maybe the Yamster simply got tired of policing us all the time.

Some of us thank you more profusely then others.

Just a glitch, it does that to me periodically and has always; along with saying a "question was deleted" the first time I submit an answer. About a quarter of the time now - even though tabbing back and forth says otherwise.

No, I would not do that. Many people have experienced this. I have heard this happens time to time. I have noticed that when I try to answer the question it says the question is deleted ( and it is not )

LOL I have considered this as well.

Yet I would bet that you have the same problem I do in that you have a lack in report monkey powers.

I have reported spam links in my own questions and nothing happens.
