I intend to write letters and do what I can.

I am all for controlling potentially invasive species, but what is invasive in one state isn't in another. Massachusetts and Florida have very different climates, why should we have the same list of banned animals?

The problem with his bill is that it automatically bans animals that aren't approved, instead of banning just ones already deemed potentially invasive.

This would cause lots of stores to close. We need tow work on fixing the laws on a state by state basis instead of this ridiculous blanket ban.

And you just know PETA is going to push this like crazy, this would bring them a lot closer to them reaching their goal of eliminating ALL pets!

ADD: Scully, this would make it illegal to breed, buy, sell, or transport non-native animals across state lines. That covers most common pet fish.

You could keep the ones you have now, but after it dies then you have no suppliers. It would also likely hurt a lot of businesses that sell supplies and live fish, since the supplies alone may not be enough.
