University of Nevada, Las Vegas - orientation?
Ever since we moved to Vegas I've wanted to go to UNLV because it's way cheaper than going out of state. And I've been accepted!
But...orientation. I'm a transfer student, and I have to go anyway. But, what about parents? It looks kind of like the parent orientation is mandatory, and my parents have no interest in going (since I'll be living with them when I go to school there, what's the point?)
Does anyone know if the parent orientation is mandatory? Or, how you can avoid paying for it when you pay for the student orientation?

I don't know anything about UNLV but I highly doubt parent orientation is mandatory. Is parent orientation strictly for parents or for you and your parents.
My sister got into St. Johns and there was an orientation for both students and parents. But my mom couldn't make it, so my sister and me went to check out the campus and whatnot and it was fine. I know there is another orientation strictly for students where they get to live on campus for a few days and that's what i think is the student orientation :/ But it could be different for your school.
As for avoiding to pay for parent orientation, tell them about your situation that your parents can't make that day or something. Call them up and see that they say. I think that's the best answer you can get.
