Does it hurt to have bruised ribs?

I have bruised ribs! I fell off of a horse a week ago. They hurt so bad that at times I have wished I was dead! ha! Seriously, this is the most painful thing that I have ever had to deal with--you can't breathe deeple, and coughing, laughing, and especially sneezing hurt like heck!!! I have taken up to 15 mg of Vicodin, and I still feel pain on my ribs! I can't do anything physical right now, and I just try to rest and sleep when I am not working.

I hear it takes about 6 weeks to heal. It has been one week, and I feel no improvement.

Please, give your friend a break. It really does hurt that much. Also, please, try to help your friend out. It can hurt to drive, pick things up, move, bend over, get up and down, etc...I mean it can hurt really bad. So, offer to help your friend out. Someday, you might be in his situation and you will like for someone to do the same.

Do to others and treat others as you would like them to do to you and treat you if you were in the same situation.

Bruised Ribs Pain

How did you injure them? When I bruised my rib, I fell on top of a TV stand, and I couldn't breathe for a few moments. If it just feels tender, it's probably bruised. A bruise on my ribs hurt the most of anything else I've ever done, including accidentally stapling my thumb, slicing my foot with pruning shears, and nearly concussing myself. Trust me, you would know if you had bruised your rib.

Im pretty sure most bruises hurt even if its just a little bit haha but ya bruised ribs would probably hurt pretty bad.

Like being kicked by a mule would hurt for some time. Oh Yeah. Especially since your ribs rise and fall with every breath.

Yeah it really does. Not really the same but I have mets to my ribs, and that pain is like a strong but dull ache ALL THE TIME that's then exacerbated by breathing and pretty much any movement.

Yes it hurts really bad. Now mix that (probably one of the most extreme pains felt on the human body) with all yours friends thinking that maybe you are overreacting and doing to much. That s some Bogus shhh** to deal with.

It hurts so bad I couldn't even breathe when I went to the hospital I was crying and then they started to touch them and that hurt even more and j just wanted to scream badly

Yes, it really does hurt. Its the equivalent of rubbing salt in an open cut. except its a different type of pain.

OUCH!! It hurts a LOT. But it should heal as quick as any other bruise. :)
